E Goes to School

Today was a BIG day for both Mommy and Little E! Mommy headed back for her first day of work after being on maternity leave for 12 weeks and E had his first day of 'school' (Mommy prefers this word to 'daycare'). Seeing E off in the morning and being away from him was the hardest thing Mommy has ever had to do. It was also the longest span of time that E and Mommy were apart in a year (in utero for 9 months/plus on the outside for 3 months). Mommy shed many a tear in the days leading up to the big day, but stayed pretty solid when she took E into class in the morning.

The previous night, E eagerly helped Mommy pack his school bag complete with change of clothes, sheets, bibs and a wearable blanky. His prep work is a trait he inherited from Mommy who loves to plan, plan, plan.

Since E had been to visit his school a few times, he was somewhat familiar with his surroundings and his first day was a lot of fun. He met several new friends - Myles, Miles, boy-Sasha, Sara and Drew. His teachers are Cherise and Aunt Rhonda and E has become fond of them. Mommy is lucky because E's school is just a few short steps (a wee 5-minute walk) from her office and she is able to visit with E several times a day. She plans to have lunch with him as much as possible.

E: Mommy, I think my school bag is a little heavy?
E packed his lunch the night before ... yum, milk!
He greeted Tuesday morning with a big ol' smile and stretch.
And was excited about his new school clothes!

E and his teacher, Cherise became fast friends!After all the action at school, E enjoyed the early evening at home with Mommy and his swing.

But before long, he was off to dreamland and resting up for his next big day!
