Mover and Shaker

Well, it's been a while since we've come around ... Since bringing in the new year, things have been very busy in the Abraham household. E continues to grow by the second and is learning new and exciting things at every turn!!

He's now eating all his veggies including green beans, peas, sweet potatoes, carrots, squash. We've just started to conquer fruits. He eats his solids twice a day and continues to nurse. He constantly babbles and the sound of his sweet, little voice is music to our ears.

His current babble is 'Bababababababa' ... which we think he actually means when he calls Calley dog. He is INFATUATED with his puppy dog and he completely lights up when she comes around. If he's ever having a bad day, we know that Calley would bring him some sunshine.

E started sitting for extended periods of time. It's so neat to see him sitting on the floor surrounded by his toys. He'll sit and reach for his toys. There's no doubt that one of his favorite things to do is floor time. He's a little explorer!!

He's also moving at a fast and furious rate. He had been rolling a lot and he'd get places left and right with ease, but that has now transformed to an army crawl. If we put a toy or phone or the TV remote in front of him, he will move forward using his arms and essentially dragging his body behind him. He's taken over our family room with his toys and quilts scattered all through the room.
E has strong arms because he lifts these 5 lb weights. Strong boy!

In our home, he loves to head toward the entertainment unit where the DVD player and cable box are. Unfortunately, they are located pretty much on the floor and he eagerly reaches for them. Daddy is trying to teach E limits ... but I really think we're going to have to end up moving that stuff!! E now knows he is not supposed to touch those things, but he will get over there and turn his head and look at us and wait to see our response. Then he reaches out and starts smacking all the equipment and tries to press the buttons!

E loves hanging out in the kitchen from time to time when Mommy and Daddy are cooking. He hangs out at his activity table and often plays piano music for us. Of course, this means we have to dance ... and we think he gets a kick out of seeing us act so goofy. Mind you, I think we secretly loove being goofy too.


He will also creep all the way over to Calley if she is sleeping nearby. He likes to reach out and pet her and she welcomes it (and there is very close parental supervision at all times!)
With all this new movement, we have found it essential to start baby-proofing. The house was more or less Calley-proofed, but she wasn't sticking her paws into electrical outlets, so we definitely made sure we plugged up all those!
