There was a lot of activity at our home this past week. First, Santa's helpers showed up at our door to help spruce up the house with some hardwood floors. The floor guys tore up the first level on Thursday and Friday. Mommy and Daddy were impressed with the way it all turned out ...

But what they weren't impressed with was the REALLY nasty stomach bug that Mommy came down with. It was so bad that she only made it through a half day of work on Friday and came home to rest with the sounds of the floor guys hammering away right below her. But that didn't seem to bother her and Little E and Daddy took extra special care of her the entire weekend.
On Saturday afternoon, E and Daddy went to celebrate Avi's birthday -- he turned two! What a big boy! They had some fun at a barnyard-themed birthday at the Maymount Park discovery room, while Mommy spent the afternoon asleep on the couch.

E had fun with his friends and Auntie Harshna and Avi's Grandma. He also got to see his friend Brady from NoVa.
Then on Sunday, E had his first sample of solid food -- rice cereal! Well, let me take that back, truly it was his second helping. See, just the week before, as E sat with his classmates at the big kid table at school, he reached over and grabed himself a helping of rice cereal and apricots!! I think he was trying to send his teachers a message ... he was ready to be a big kid!
E hanging out doing his thing -- Rolly Poly!! His teachers gave him a very suitable nickname. He moves through space and time in a flash!
The first spoonful of rice cereal we gave him was questionable. E's expression turned sour. His eyes squinted. He looked at us as if to say: 'Am I being Punk'd?' ... He was thinking about things as he sloshed the food around in his mouth and made a snapping noise with this tongue. He then opened his mouth ... again ... and again ... and again!! Mommy and Daddy were extremely impressed -- and Daddy happy that E had his appeptite (Mommy can be a picky eater sometimes.)
