Celebrating 5 Years

Little E here -- with my first entry (translated with the help of Mommy, the Editor). Today marks a very special day for my Mommy and Daddy -- they are celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary!! I think I'll have to personally thank my grandfathers, my Thatha and Velliappa, because as many of you know, their friendship played a big part in how Mommy and Daddy met!! Thatha and Velliappa have known each other since they were just 5 years old!! They met in boarding school in India and kept in contact with each other through many long years. Despite living in different countries -- Thatha moved to Canada and Velliappa moved to the U.S -- they always kept tabs on the other and maintained a close friendship.

Who would've known that their children would grow up to become the best of friends, get hitched and start their own lives together??? Now Thatha and Velliappa have a grandson in common!!

Although Mommy and Daddy saw each other when they were just a few months old (my age!)and played together as toddlers, it wasn't until 2002 that they really met, got to know each other and became best friends!! In fact, they haven't stopped talking since the summer of 2002!!

Here are Mommy and Daddy as toddlers playing on a swing in Mommy's homeland of Canada!
A then younger Thatha plays around with the two of them. Daddy looks a little scared over there!!
Cake cutting at Mommy and Daddy's wedding reception back in 2003... which I heard was DELICIOUS one year later when they took the top tier out of the freezer!
They were all smiles at their wedding reception and extremely grateful for the wonderful day they were able to share with so many loved ones!
Here they relax on the beach in Kauai, HI where they went for their Honeymoon. It's a self-portrait taken on the beach. Mommy tells me she plans to retire there in her old age ... not sure if Daddy knows this or not?
